Abstract

The regime of the unit for separation of phenols from the naphthalene oil fraction was analysed. It was found that the critical problem of the unit is a solid deposition on the heat transfer surface. The solid formation is due to a low sedimentation rate of water from naphthalene oil due to a high flow rate in the equipment. To solve the problem, installation of two additional sedimentation tanks was proposed.
